UK Visa Requirement
A requirement for anyone without a UK passport.
The United Kingdom Electronic Travel Authorisation (UK ETA) is a travel authorization issued by the UK to nationals of countries who are exempt from obtaining a UK visa. It is mandatory to apply for and obtain this authorization before traveling to the United Kingdom, and is designed for visits, transit, or Creative Workers under certain conditions.

This is the website we use when purchasing train tickets in England. Here, you can purchase tickets online, reserve train seats in some cases (not required, but helpful!), print physical tickets after purchasing online, use your phone for tickets, etc.
We have found buying in advance gets you a little discount.

Once you're in the UK

We disembark in Southampton. You can get into London by train very easily. If you are returning right after the cruise, getting the train to Reading, and onward to Heathrow is a better/more direct route.
Other cities/sites of interest are: Bath, Bristol (also has an airport), Oxford, and Cambridge.

Leaving the UK
London's Heathrow Airport is just outside London. There are a few hotels we've stayed in near the airport for the earlier departing flights. If you'd like any recommendations, we're happy to provide some to you.
